Department of Financial Administration

The Administration and Finance Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation is a critical division responsible for overseeing and managing the administrative, financial, and budgetary aspects of the ministry’s operations. With a primary focus on supporting the agricultural and irrigation sectors, our department plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective utilization of resources, promoting financial transparency, and facilitating the smooth functioning of the ministry.

The goal of the department is to enhance the capacity of operations management of the Ministry of Agriculture & Irrigation in areas related to procurement, financial and administrative management. Under the direct supervision of the Director General, the administration and financial Department is responsible for the performance of the administration, finance, logistics section, and archive service section.

The primary functions of this department are to provide administrative support, forecast and manage balance sheets, manage budgets, financial reporting and risks, and develop standards for financial performance.

Department main Objectives

  • Overall coordination, management, and reporting on finance, Administration, and Record management. 
  • Prepare the Ministry’s recurrent and development budgets.
  • Provide effective leadership, enabling the Department to improve the performance of its functions and achieve set
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of Finance and administration. 
  • Provide and maintain office accommodation, facilities, and other necessities including logistics and motor vehicles.
  • Maintain Financial Account Records for MOAI.
  • Ensure Proper Utilization and Maintenance of Fixed Assets Register for MOAI.

Analyzing this data will help in monitoring progress and evaluating the impact of agricultural policies and programs.

He is responsible to monitor the implementation of agricultural policies and programs and evaluating their effectiveness. This includes conducting field visits and providing feedback to ensure that projects are aligned with objectives and are delivering expected outcomes.

He engages with various stakeholders within the agriculture and irrigation sectors, such as farmers, industry associations, research institutions, and non-governmental organizations. This involves fostering partnerships, collaborating on initiatives, and gathering input to inform policy and planning decisions.
